Re: Engine starting- intermitent on ignition key turn.

As Chief says, light goes out long before power to plugs, I didn't realise that until yesterday when I checked voltage to plugs and was surprised they stayed on for so long, I guess the light is just a guide as to the minimum that you should leave before starting ! People often say about "double hea...

Re: Help

Mick, Can't really think of anything obvious, if the flasher unit is working o.k I'd just check you've got 12v leaving the flasher unit to indicators (orange and blue wires) and if you have then problem must be between there and indicator units, probably earth, but I know the feeling, it seems every...

Re: Help

Mick If it's the flasher units I don't think you will do much damage in putting the wires on and trial and error, they'll either work or they won't The permanently live one is obviously for the Hazard flasher, and the live with ignition will be your indicators I'll get a pic of mine on Thursday if y...

Re: Rear brakes

Maybe silly question, but you say you have a problem with the handbrake, and then ask about "rear shoes" and "cylinders", is your handbrake on the rear, or on the drive shaft , because if its on the driveshaft chances are the cables just crudded up, mine didn't work last week and after freeing the c...

Re: Never ending problems

Andy, I had problem with my starter recently, took it to an auto electricians and he fitted a new solenoid for £42 inc VAT. I think it was a bosch motor in mine, he said the solenoid was easy to get hold of, I think the main problems are the way they mount rather than whats inside Mine was clicking ...

Re: Oil feed to gauge.

Personaly I'm with Alan on this one, having had the oil line go myself on the original 2.1 lump. also I believe Chris had a similar experience with his first Mindy which killed the engine. On an air line you can get away with just jubbly clips. But on oil-line you got, heat as well as lubrication +...

Re: Bill for Nothing

That sounds like justice ! If that were in England though, I expect the bloke would have to pay the Court costs and they'd probably tell him that unless he paid the £0.00 within 10 days he'd be sent to prison !!!

Re: Ieuan's new Marksman!

Ieuan, Can't see too many brush marks there, but if you don't want any at all, use a roller, a gloss sponge roller is what I used and if you put next to no weight on it you get an excellent finnish, so much so that when I did my jeep originally people thought I'd sprayed it !See you next Friday !
