Re: seats

thanks for the link fellas- but jeeparts dont have a distributor in Western Australia!

Knelly- the frames of the hi-back buckets in our mindy are ok, but need reupholstering badly.

with the cost of freight, you could buy yourself new seats a lot cheaper!

Re: power take off?

thanks for the heads-up Cooter,

as I dont particularly relish the idea of another 4wd rollover
(been there- done that- rather not do it again thank you very much!)

I think I will file the pto powered trailer idea where it belongs.

seats

I want to put "military spec" seats in our mindy, but cant find any locally, so will probably have to resort to making my own.

Anyone out there know where I can find dimensions or plans to bend a set of frames up?

Thanks fellas

Re: power take off?

I was looking at the "Herm the overdrive guy" website yesterday- he sells the overdrive stuff to suit mahindras, but also has an adaptor so you can run both the overdrive and the PTO piggybacked! I had been intending to dump my PTO and just fit the overdrive- but a power driven trailer as well as th...

Re: armourerdoug - new WW2 jeep project

Hi Doug,

How much will it weigh when its finished?

I imagine that the original versions with a decent thickness of armour must have been awfully overweight......

Re: steering box question

gotcha,

once I clear all the unintended antirust compound (accumulated old grease, oil and gunk) from all around the steeringbox and chassis, I can then find the bolts...tub should be off by lunchtime!

steering box question

is it possible to remove the steering column from the steering box, while the steering box is still bolted to the chassis? If it can be done- I think it will make lifting the body tub off the chassis a bit easier! I dont have a repair manual to refer to at the moment- but have an order coming from t...

Re: PW's meanderings with Peaches the Jeep

Hi P/W, we are looking foreward to seeing your pic's as you are doing to peaches pretty much what our plans are for our mindy! filling in the tailgate, hanging the spares and jerrycans on the sides and back, home built screen frame- (might be split screen) wipers mounted on the screen frame, olive d...

mindi stripping

mindi arrived yesterday morning, started stripping her down pretty much as soon as she rolled off the truck, at the moment the only thing stopping me lifting the tub off the chassis is I cant get the ruddy steering wheel off- not having a wheel puller- and its too late to buy one today. I took lots ...

power take off?

Gidday Fellas, Our mahindra arrives here on the back of a tilt tray truck tomorrow morning, and I spent this afternoon at the previous owners home picking up a trailer load of parts that go with it. At first look the tub seems to be rust free, but there is a few bits in the front guards, bonnet and ...

Re: gidday fellas!

Thanks for the welcome fellas work on our project will be in fits and starts- I live in Perth, Western Australia but work is on a mine in the north west. I fly out to work on a 2 weeks on 1 week off roster so my time at home tends to be pretty much catching up with everyone while trying to make it u...

my understanding is that the original military jeeps were fitted with the drop down tailgate- but it was bolted shut so it couldnt be opened.

gidday fellas!

Gidday all, My son (Brodie) and myself (Stephen) have recently bought the remains of 1 1/2 mahindra CJ3B clones, which are badly in need of pulling apart and rebuilding. My plan is to take the body tub and hang it on a rotisserie so it can be worked on in the shed, while we can roll the chassis out ...
