Photo with postings ?

Post by davedale » Mon Feb 02, 2009 11:34 am

I have tried to add a photo of my mahindra to the box next to a posted message but failed. I tried User Control Panel > Profile > Edit Avatar and browsed to find my photo. When I clicked Submit it told me that only avatars of a certain size were allowed. Presumably my photo was too large, or am I barking up the wrong tree completely ? Any advice would be welcome please. Thank you.
Dave Dale.

the picture needs to be within the stated pixel and kb limits or it won' be displayed.
I suggest you use a photo editing software to reduce the picture.

hope this helps.

Keith is correct, the site software will not load it if it's too big. I have increased it from standard to a reasonable size as you can see by my avatar. If you really get stuck, email it to me and I'll edit it and send it back to you to add to your profile.

Thanks Chieftan and Alan. I used an editing program to reduce the size of the picture to as small as it would make it ( I think ! ) and tried to upload it to the website - but still got the following message : >>The submitted avatar is 640 pixels wide and 480 pixels high. Avatars must be at least 20 pixels wide and 20 pixels high, but no larger than 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high>>. I will take you up on your kind offer Alan and email the photo to you.
