Glow Plugs not staying on long enough

Post by birchalex » Sun Feb 26, 2017 3:48 pm

Hi,

Has anyone had an issue where the Glo plugs don't stay on for long enough before the engine attempts to turn over?

Jeep won't start.

Battery's fine. Plenty of fuel. Starters making the attempt but not quite getting there!!
Thanks

Alex

Turn your ignition on (not start), the glow plug light will come on, wait till it goes out and then turn the key all the way to start it. It's not an automatic starter system, you have to control it ;)

Yes - I know that.

Glo plugs normally come on for maybe 10 seconds but the light came on and probably only stayed on for 2 - 3 seconds.

That's the only difference between the last time I started and this time when there's an issue.

There's been no alterations to the Jeep between starting it last time and this time.

Battery is fine. Plenty of fuel.

Thanks

Alex
