steering wheel

Post by tonystokes » Mon May 08, 2017 12:21 pm

Hi ,

My Mahindra Indian Chief was turned into a "Willys" by the previous owner, who has fitted a small modern steering wheel on a six screw adaptor plate. I have been looking for something more in keeping, but keep coming back to a reproduction "Willys" wheel, which costs around £80 on ebay. Would this fit on the original column if I removed the adaptor or does anyone know of an appropriate wheel that would fit to it?

I must admit that I don't as yet know how a steering wheel even fits to the column, but feel I am about to learn.

All help and comments would be appreciated.

Tony

Cheers Grandad,

I did wonder if it would involve some welding, good job one of my mates is a farmer with a mag welder (and he's used to working on trackers)

I will keep checking ebay,

Tony

I seem to recall the boss is the same as a RWD early Escort

so you can find a large Mountney or Moto Lita wheel to fit
Kind Regards
