Model ident and wiring etc

Post by mungamax » Thu Nov 22, 2018 2:32 pm

Hello, can anyone shed light on what the spec should be for my jeep please? The plate says 3400DP-4WD, and registered new in 1994.
It has what looks like a power take off, but nothing attached to it. A rollover bar has been fitted, and the wiring is like at explosion in a wire factory! It also has a remote brake servo on the nearside front wing. The seats look wrong, as these are much too thick and have sliders and can have the back rack changed.
Can anyone point me to correct wiring diagram, and tell me what should be fitted, and what should not be fitted please?

Thank you
Andy

adjustable high back bucket seats on sliders?
aftermarket brake booster,
roll bar [if it is diagonal braced]

sounds like we might have another Aussie spec Mindie surfacing!

need to see photos and serial numbers

Ok, I have some photos, but can't seem to find how to get them onto the site! :beg:
Model number is 3400DP-4WD, and serial number is 38941*. The last digit is not easy to read.
This vehicle has been "played" about with, so I doubt it's going to be anything other than a mongrel.

Cheers

I have tried everything I can think of, but I can only post photo at a time! This could be a long job, bear with me!

Aussie spec. brake booster, twin fuel filters, roll cage identical to mine, heater unit, dodgy cable trunking used for the demister.....
'Stockman" spec' seats,
Does your mindie have the long tool box running behind the seats - between the wheel tubs??

Looks much like mine [except for the lack of industrial termites in yours]

Data plate details from my mindie:

MODEL: CJ-340DP-4WD
CHASSIS NO. MBE 340 DP BK DM 25112
ENGINE NO. DM-25112
SERIAL NO. 376119 12-89

.......Looks like yours is another leftover colonial CJ340DP, sentenced to transportation to the wrong side of the world!!

a bloke in [iirc] Holland makes reproduction data plates for all sorts of jeeps

A few years ago I sent him close up photos of the Mahindra data plates, as they were one of the few he did not have.

If anyone can knock up a reproduction for you - it would be him.

He doesn't show the Mahindra plate on his website - but should have my photos stashed away someplace.

Hello, thank you for the info. Good job you told me about the demister, I was going to take it off as I thought a previous owner had devised it!
Can you post some photos of yours please, so I can see what i need to put it back as it should be? Also any info about where I can find a spec etc. I suspect user or workshop manuals are on the no chance list! :beg:
How about spares, are bits about for them?

Thanks again
Andy
