Great info there, thanks :good:

One prob I seem to have is when I list alterations to vehicle, this just seems to just add to the cost of policy :cray: Never quite sure what they want to hear, I have read about Willys owners paying just £50 which is a almost a third of what I pay for basically the same vehicle with restricted mileage and it has to be kept in garage after 6pm if within a mile of my home :banghead:

Amazed,
Swintons have just quoted, FC, protected NC, Personal accident, £200 excess, for £112.23 :good:

Knocks the socks off Adrain Flux's quote this year  :cray: :banghead:

No major mods on Miss Siagon,
Swinton's don't discount for clubs like Adrian Fucx,
But Adrian are a lot more expensive this year again.

Your right Keith, my quote was up withAdrian Flux, (£155), so I did a search and Swinton were about £110 so I rang Flux back and told them that the Swinton quote was for the Willys mods to mine as well (porkies) so they asked me for all the mods and did mine for the £155 with the mods which suits me, although a bit steep to what Id have liked to pay. I think firt year with Flux 3 years ago was only £90 odd quid, takes the p*ss somewhat really !

Perhaps a good idea for a whole batch to go to an Insurer o stoke some competition between them !

Just moved to Lancaster insurance, including breakdown and recover, fully comp, 2000 miles per year with 1 year No claims for £159 - my quote from Adrian Flux was £170 TPF&Th

So well worth giving them a bell, it's their classic car insurance as 1992 is early enough (not 4x4 as this was more, so my odd trip off roading is not covered)

The only issue I had was their system showed my Brave as having a 2.1 Petrol engine! It took a few moments to get them to accept it was 'Heavy Oli' as listed on the V5 so their updated their system now

Cheers
Ieuan

Hi Stewart, No real heavy duty mods on mine really, as Dash or Bonet etc have not changed, I did mention the Wheels, hood and moving the spare wheel, oh and the side lights, indicators and rear lights - I think that's covered everything  (I hope :) )

Ieuan, As you say, without any major structural mods you should be fine because they won't even know what the original was like anyway, and when they ask "have you altered the vehicle from it's original spec it's a grey area anyway, because if you say "No" , who's to say the alterations weren't carried out before your purchase and therefore "how were you to know what was original, and what wasn't. Only if you bought the vehicle new would they really have proof that a) you carried them out and b) that you knew what was there from day one, and what wasn't !!

Maybe naievety wouldn't stretch to 26" pimped alloys and a supercharger obscuring the screen, but subtle changes are a bit more difficult to establish !!

That's what I thought, the lady at Lancaster said that my mods didn't increase the quote anyway....so I'm quite pleased with the price, especially as I now have breakdown (I hope I never need to use it though)
