Just a quick note.....

If anyone is after those elusive UNF bolts they are the same size and rating (Grade S or 8.8 HT) as Land Rover prop shaft bolts. There are a few sellers on eBlag that stock them regularly for a few quid a set.

Cheaper than buying a whole box of 200! :)

As a rule, yes. It just depends on which version you have as to which bit needs machining.

Have a look on my post about fitting discs HERE It shows the two different types of hub side by side :good:
Hello

Are there any of the plates for Suzuki calipers knocking about??

Or even just the drawings. As the supplier of the original brake hoses for this kit I am happy to make more hoses and will even get some plates lasered and plated to keep on the shelf.

Does any one have a template / drawing and/or any objections to me getting some made up??

Many thanks

David

This is what your looking for Dave. Make as many as you like, Tim no longer supplies them so the field is open. It's a very small field though so don't go mad ;)

I need a couple for some zuki calipers

I know a man with a water jet cutter but he is manically busy.... Some time in January might be a possibility....

You would be better with the Suzuki has the caliper rides slightly high on the rover and you will need to trim the pads but I do find off road the rover more reliable

I have it, but on safety grounds I wont publish it.

The rover conversion leaves the pads too high on the disc, as Kev points out. Convert to Suzuki if your going to convert it at all. Its just as good and has no issues with uneven pad wear. Kev mentioned that the rover calipers are slightly more robust in extreme conditions but a little maintenance will sort that issue.

PS,

The calipers to source are Suzuki JIMNY for the conversion - they are the same as the Suzuki SJ / Vitara. There are differences in the caliper design but the relevant dimensions are all the same :good:

Thanks for your replies.

As it happens I have both Suzuki SJ and Rover 214 calipers. The Rover ones look a lot heftier, that's why I was thinking of fitting them, albeit with having to file the brake pads in the future.

I was going to fit Rover calipers to my Jeep, but the Hotchkiss wheels I have foul the calipers, do you know if the suzuki ones are smaller in profile as I dont want to fit wheel spacers to clear the calipers.
Cheers Graham.
