rear brakes.

Post by balders » Thu Feb 25, 2016 7:06 pm

Hi guys, hope someone can help here. Need to replace the rear drum brake shoes on the old beasty. Has anyone found compatible ones as I've seen a few advertised under Renault and Talbot. Once I get the old ones out to compare should be straight forward but was hoping to short cut and slap new ones straight in. :beg:
Couple of pics of it, will post a few more when I sort the file format out :banghead:
Thanks
Jon

Either have the existing shoes relined or buy new from Ahmed in India. I have found him to be reliable, reasonable and timely, he lists on Ebay and has posted recently on this site. Sorry I can't help with compatibility with other makes.

Regards, Falstaff.

I agree Ahmed, Worth his weight in gold, way to go.

Does anyone know if the stock brake shoes are asbestos lined?

Hi Nitin, I am quite sure that the stock brakes are asbestos lined.
(If unsure it is always best to assume that these things do have asbestos and therefore take the neccessary precautions)

I manged to get my stock shoes blasted, painted and new liners bonded and riveted on for around £45 collected.
send me a PM and I will forward you the details of the company.
